Logrono and the SAN MATEO WINE FESTIVAL

Woke up this morning feeling refreshed, yesterday was a hell day on the road and I’m proud of how Kim held up, not that I doubted her at all

Grabbed our stuff and headed to our new hotel for the night to drop off our bags, turns out they had a room ready and we could move in, the travel gods are being kind today

Well;;;;;;;; it’s the San Mateo wine festival and we arrived just in time,, or they would have missed us.


The Spanish know how to party, the young ones too, except they don’t know when to stop.

 The streets are a slow graceful and rhythmic moving horde of people, all having fun, and breakfast hasn’t been served yet, now that I know wine isn’t just for breakfast anymore, I decided to join in.. after all I am here for a good time.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese pincho, and a beer, life is looking up.

Kim had her first “coffee con letche”, and is hooked on the coffee, closely followed by a chocolate croissant.

People think that in Spain you eat tapas,  that’s tue in the south, but here in the north its called Pincho, they is a distinct difference in that pincho are very gourmet’s style small bread treats.

We walked the streets for hours and then sat at a restaurant outdoors to people watch. It  was then we got a message from Bill that their plane was soo delayed that they missed the train to logrono. they bit the bullet and rented a car, plan too be here by about 5pm. 

Tomorrow we walk over those mountains, yay,,,right

Looking forward to seeing them both, I was in Colorado 5 days ago to celebrate Bills 60th birthday, doesn’t that make me feel old,,,,,er.

Antone who’s walked a Camino get s this, really warmed my heart and bought back memories ill never forget,, buen Camino

So,here we are taking a break from the crowd and waiting for the rest of the gang.

Now in the states we have pork rind, in Spain they have PORK RHIND


 Looking forward to celebrating with them tonight, but tomorrow the serious walking begins, I had made the decision to not think or talk about the knees in my blog, I’m just going to do what they allow me to do, then taxi the rest if I have to.
